I have been an expat for the last 15 years, moving from one country to another. I experienced the strange feeling, watching people come and go in my life, enjoying our mutual beneficial interactions. I like to paint this intersecting life courses in an abstract way, focusing on the overwhelming positive effect it created. The piece is arranged in a random set of lines to represent people at their best and the background stripes to represent their journey in life. Hence the french word “strass“ and stripes seems to be an appropriate name for it.
